Chritsmas

Christmas is coming. Let´s sing a carol.

Jingle Bells

Dashing through the snow, in a one-horse open sleigh,
Over the fields we go, laughing all the way.
Bells on bob-tails ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight.

Chorus
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way!
O what fun it is to ride in a one-horse open sleigh.

A day or two ago, I thought I'd take a ride
And soon Miss Fanny Bright, was seated by my side;
The horse was lean and lank, misfortune seemed his lot;
He got into a drifted bank and we got upsot

(Chorus)

A day or two ago, the story I must tell
I went out on the snow, and on my back I fell;
A gent was riding by, in a one-horse open sleigh
He laughed as there I sprawling lie but quickly drove away

(Chorus)

Now the ground is white, go it while you're young
Take the girls tonight, and sing this sleighing song;
Just get a bob-tailed bay, two-forty as his speed
Hitch him to an open sleigh and crack! you'll take the lead

(Chorus)

Here in summer

Summer is full of free time,
try Robert Frost and his poems

The Road Not Taken
American poet Robert Frost (1874-1963) reads "The Road Not Taken,"
Set in rural New England, Frost's poetry uses ordinary events and objects from his life in New England as metaphors for complex ideas and feelings.
"The Road Not Taken" presents the classic choice of a moment and a lifetime, Frost, who was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1924, 1931, 1937, and 1943, described a poem as "a momentary stay against confusion".

The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Star Wars The New Hope

Star Wars the New Hope is one of the best science fiction films of history conceived by George Lucas in 1977.
Mark Hamill plays the part of Luke Skywalker; a farmer.
The story takes place in a Galaxy.
The film is about a robot who possesses a few planes stolen from a station of combat.
The acting in general is excellent. Harrison Ford is totally convincing as Han Solo and Carry Fisher makes a brillant Princes Leia.
The plot is a little difficult to follow and the dialogue is awful.
Another thing that I enjoyed was the soundtrack which is really great. This film is amazing. It made me think a lot.

I recommend to go and see it now!

Isaac Newton

Isaac Newton ( 4th January, 1643 - 31th March, 1727)

Was a scientist, physicist, philosopher, alchemist and an English mathematician. He´s the author of the " Principia ", where he describes the law of Universal Gravitation and he wrote basic ideas of Classic Mechanics.

Newton was the first that demostrated the natural laws that guide movement in the Earth and the one that guides the movement of celestial bodies is the same.

He is respected a the best scientist all the time and his work is the perfection of the scientific Revolution.

Among his scientific work stands up his discoveries that the spectre of colour can be seen when the white light goes through a prism. It is due to the light developed in a thermal conduction law He studies about sound speed in the air and his theory about the origin of the starts.

Something of my life, my area and my school

My name is Mario, I´m 18 years old and I like sport above all swimming and mountain bike.
I live in Madrid (capital of Spain), in Aluche area, althoug I lived in Carabanchel, both are beautiful districts. Aluche has got a great park, it has got nearly a forest its name is "Casa de Campo", interesting to practise sport.
My school is "Mariano José de Larra" (the name of a very important Spanish writer).
My timetable at school starts at 18:30 and finishes late at night about 22:30, we are just a few students in my class, but very friendly and with a very good sense of humour.
In the morning I have to work as a lifeguard in a swimming-pool, and I start at 10:30 a.m. and I finish 20:30.

Kind regards to all of you

My Summer

I want to do well in all my exams.
I´m going to Cadiz this summer, I´m so tired because of the exams and I need to rest and go to the beach .
I want to finish my classes and I want to enjoy myselft but I am sad because I will not come back to Larra School, and I will miss all my friends here, as I have spent four years in this school
I hope everybody will have fun during this summer!!

mariangeles

This year I had had a very stressful life, because it is the last year and I have to do well in all my exams. Sometimes I don't sleep well because I have to study and preparae all my exams.
I don't like studying Latin ... and I prefer to meet my friends and have a good time. But I can't always have a good time, I'm so busy.

I have met new people here and my class is very friendly.
Next year, I'm studying Bachillerato, it will be more dificult than the School, I guess.
So we have to enjoy this summer and then be ready for the next term.

So, bye bye

Summer festival

The summer festival is usually held on holiday. So many people want to have a wonderful journey.

In my opinion, I do hope you can go to Japan. It is a country smaller than Spain and of course it is near the sea.It does have some beautiful sights, such as the maple trees and the hills.

I went to Japan with my family during the summer festival. I felt really excited watching the country from the plane. When we got to Japan the landscape was so beautiful. All of the maple trees in the park, -it was so beautiful-, that the leaves floated in the sky. It was amazing. The hill of Fushi is very famous and popular in the world. It´s very high and the top of moutain is covered with snow. What´s more, the flowers in February floated as snowflakes. This is the most beautiful of all.

If you go to Japan, you must go shopping in the malls, also you will see some interesting buildings. If you cannot go there, that would be a pity. Why not to go there?
If you are hungry, you can eat noodles in the small bars. That´s enjoyable. The soup is more delicious than noodles. You can try it.

If you are very tired with life, if you are sad with life, if you are busy with life, make a trip, you will enjoy your life, you will have a beautiful life. Not only you will have a good experience, but also you will increase your knowledge. That´s good to open your eyes in your life.

My Holliday

There are a lot of hollidays along the year. But the best I like is the summer. It is the season when the weather is hot, perfect to go to the montain wih my family or friends, and it is the longest, of course.
This summer I would like to go to Poland to see my family. I love to be there, in the montain, in the South walking under the tress all around me. The weather is not very hot there, but at least it is not cold, very different from the summer in Madrid.
I will go there with my family, but I want to spend some time with my friends too. It would be nice to go to the beach with them and stay under the sun, in the North in the Baltic sea.
But I can´t forget the place where I lived, wich is in the North, Kolobrzeg. In summer it is very quiet and it is perfect to stay with very few people who come from Germany, Spain, England...
Really I don´t know how is it going to be during the summer. The onley thing I want is to have a nice holliday with all my family.
Bye

Madrid

El Pardo is
a very famous Palace in Madrid, its origin is a village. Later it began as a hunting area for Kings around the sixteenth century. Then they began to build houses which turned into a Royal Palace.
It was not until the nineteenth century when El Pardo became a place to be ocupied by common people and in 1950 it joined the city of Madrid.
The village contains a number of residential areas and royal gardens and several monasteries and chapels. His church is a sober and elegant classical style. Between 1940 and 1975, El Pardo Palace was the residence of the head of state Francisco Franco, but now it is a currently hosting palace for foreign heads of state visiting Spain.

The Retiro Park

It is a popular park located in the centre of the city. At the beginning it was a palace built by Philip IV and an area for the Royal family to enjoy. Now it belongs to everybody, especially on Sundays

Cuerpo triste, Cuerpo triste... Cuerpo triste, Cuerpo triste... Cuerpo triste... Cuerpo triste, ¿de dónde saliste? Cuerpo triste... ¿Dónde, dónde, dónde...?¿Dónde vas?

Pros and cons of living in a big capital

Living in a big city has many pros and cons, but I think everything depends on each person.

From my point of view, I believe that the pros of living in a big city are, for example, that you have a lot of places where you can buy a lot of things, for example at H&M, Stradiarius, Bershka...

In a city like Madrid there are too a lot of schools and universities, and you don't have to travel to other towns to study. But the cons are that there is a lot of pollution and you can't enjoy the Nature.

In conclusion, for me is better to live in a big city, because there are more facilities.

Bye, till tomorroy

Festivities

In May and June it takes place a grat festivity in Aluche. There is a fun-faire and at night there are lot of concerts: for example Antonio Orozco who came to our district and is extraordinary. I ike his music a lot .
I usually go at 22:00 p.m. and I have dinner in the fair and later I go dancing with my freinds until early morning.
I love this time of the year because I meet my friends and it is summer.

Bye, bye from
Eva

is cycling a good sport for young people? (Marta)

Alcohol and sports are historically closely linked in Australia. Most major sporting competitions and team promote and advertise alcohol consumption and many sports clubs have a tradiction of heavy drinking. A large number of clubs depend on revenue from alcohol to finance club actuvities.
The good sports program is an initiative of the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF) to develop safer and healthier communities.
Evidence is growing which demostrates that community- based sports club contribute to alcohol problems by accepting and promoting excessive drinking and providing inappropriate role models for young people.

THE SCHOOL ( Paola)

My School is big, painted red and gray.
In the hall there is a picture of Mariano Jose de Larra. The name of my School comes from him. Next year we will celebrate the aniversary.
In the play ground there are football pitches, basketball and volleyball.
In my class most students are girls except four boys, all the students in general get on very well witch each other.

PAOLA

My city is Madrid

Madrid is a big city where you can see a lot of museums, scultures, and paintings... You can also visit villages and towns around Madrid. If you like football, you should visit all the stadiums.
You can enjoy your free time in pubs at night. This city, is a multicultural town. Et night you can walk along beatufil streets in Madrid. There are a lot of fountains like Neptuno, Cibeles where Real Madrid celebrate all its victoriesand football cups. There are lots monuments and monasterios too. In my opinion, Madrid is one of the most beautiful and friendly citis in the world.

My life

My name is Jaime. I am 17 years old and my birthday is on 25 on December. I am tall and thin. I have got brown eyes and brown hair. I have got a young brother and an older brother. My young brother is 9 years old and his name is Javier and my older brother is 22 years old and his name is Adrian. I like playing football and basketball. I don´t like dancing. Every day I go to school at 8:30 and I leave at 2:20. Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday I practise football in my school. My hobby is reading stories and adventure books because I want to enjoy them. I want to speak with different people. Good bye.
Jaime

SaNdRa

Living in a Madrid is very interesting as you can see different places the Retiro Park, is in the centre of the town, the Museum Reina Sofia, is in Atocha, the Prado Museum, Cibeles fountain...where the Real Madrid football team meats every time they win a afootball cup. There are also lots of restaurants Casa Paco, Montaditos.., if you come to Madrid, don't miss it. There are supermarkets, and popular shopping centers, El Corte Inglés, Tres Aguas... I go there very frequently.
If you live in a big town, it is easier to find a job in the important sectors that operate in here. But it also has its disadvantages. There are a lot of pollution, because of the trafic jams, there is also violence, sometimes..., despite of that Madrid is very quiet and friendly city.
If you live in your home town, life is more quiet because there isn´t so much traffic jams or pollution, but if you want a job you have to come into town. The food is natural and healthy, and houses ara cheaper in the country.
But, in my opinion, I prefer living in a city because there are more opportunities to get a job soon here.

Bye, till next week

SPORTS AND VIOLENCE (BY SANDRA PALOMERO)

At present the violence in sport is very frecuent in our society. First, the increase of violence causes the children to be accustomed to it and they become violent. Second, the violence in competitive sports with aggressive tactics causes aggressiviness both by athlets and spectators.
On the other hand, some sports need aggressiviness, but without expecting to be as violent, as rugby, football or basketball or hurting players and spectators.
Finally, violence in sport is bad because it also causes violence, and hurt other people.

May the 20th

Dear fellow students,

Have a chance to write those who want to know about you. Try to be kind to them and discover together new adventures. Travelling to Poland, making new friends in the North of Europe, then England, Bulgaria... inviting them to share your hopes and experiences, opening the frontiers to a new world.
Then other friends will share your hobbies, your taste of music, reading, cinema and languages. Don't stay at home just watching TV. Create new liks of friendship with those students who are similar to you, opening your mind to new languages and, in the near future, travelling all over Europe, enjoying new landscapes, sharing new thoughts and ... hopes.

It is up to you.
Kind regards
PedroJesus
